Cheesy Poofs


    They're kind of an old-time cocktail party appetizer. Real easy for an informal get-together. And, while they're certainly not "advanced food," they disappear in minutes -- people really like them.

    2 (8 oz.) packages cream cheese
    5 green onions, finely chopped
    6 Tbs. mayonnaise
    5 drops Tabasco sauce
    1 cup grated Parmesan
    Loaf of thinly sliced bread


    Butter one side of bread.
    Cut into circles with cookie or biscuit cutter.
    Brown slightly on cookie sheet.
    Mix other ingredients together.
    Place (heap, smear, slather) on Tbs. on unbuttered side of each bread circle.
    Place on cookie sheet. Place under broiler for 5 to 10 minutes, until light golden brown.

    These can be made ahead and frozen - just pop into oven frozen, they take a little longer.
